Opened a western extension from Wood Lane via East Acton to Ealing Broadway. Two tracks connected to the Wood Lane loop, which was run counter-clockwise. This resulted in right hand running, which continued for some distance.

The line was extended south from Clapham Common to Clapham South, Balham, Trinity Road (Tooting Bec) (now Tooting Bec), Tooting Broadway, Collier's Wood, South Wimbledon (Merton) (now South Wimbledon) and terminating at Morden. There was also a connection from Charing Cross (now Embankment) via Waterloo to Kennington, where a new set of platforms were built. Clapham Road station renamed to Clapham North.

Extended the service north of High Street Kensington using Metropolitan's tracks to Edgware Road, serving Notting Hill Gate, Bayswater (Queen's Road) & Westbourne Grove (now Bayswater) and Paddington (Praed Street) (now Paddington).
