Metropolitan

The curve between Rickmansworth and Croxley closed. It was re-opened 1987-05-11 for early morning trains only.

Metropolitan

Electric trains began running to Chesham and Amersham. The service to Aylesbury was still provided by electric and steam, with the changeover at Rickmansworth. The latter service was withdrawn 1961-09-10.

Metropolitan

The line between Amersham and Aylesbury Town was closed. It's service was after that date provided by BR from Marylebone.

District

The rebuilt Barking station opened along with two flyovers and one flyunder to segregate the District tracks from BR tracks.

Metropolitan

Quadrupling of the tracks from Harrow-on-the-hill to the South Watford Junction (Watford triangle), just north of Moor Park.

Piccadilly

Started to serve the District station Turnham Green, between Stamford Brook and Chiswick Park.

Finsbury Park station closed.

Ceased the serving the line from Acton Town (exclusive) to Hounslow West (inclusive) with the intermediate stations South Ealing, Northfields, Boston Manor, Osterley, Hounslow East and Hounslow Central. The branch is still served by the Piccadilly Line.

Tower Hill station closed, replaced the next day by a new station on the site of the old Tower of London station.

Tower Hill station opened on the site of the old Tower of London station, which closed 1884-10-12.

The first section opened from Walthamstow Central to Highbury & Islington via Blackhorse Road, Tottenham Hale, Seven Sisters and Finsbury Park.
