Train hit a 200mm drilling bit at about 35mph. Driver ducked, but extensive damage to cab. The drilling bit was from a test boring for new road that had pierced the tunnel. Driver moved to other cab with guard in front and the train made it to Wanstead with passengers relaying messages between the guard and the driver. |
