C&SLR station King Willam Street closed along with the tunnels under the Thames.

C&SLR's first extension opened to Moorgate Street (now Moorgate) by branching off the previous line north of Borough. The extension served the two new station at London Bridge and Bank.

C&SLR extended their line from Stockwell via Clapham Road (now Clapham North) to Clapham Common.

The formal opening of the central London railway was performed by the Prince of Wales. Public service started 1900-07-30.

The first section of the Central line opened from Shepherd's Bush right through the West End to Bank. The intermediate stations were Holland Park, Notting Hill Gate, Queen's Road (now Queensway), Lancaster Gate, Marble Arch, Bond Street, Oxford Circus, Tottenham Court Road, British Museum, Chancery Lane and Post Office (now St. Paul's)

Extended the line from Whitechapel to Bromley (now Bromley-by-bow) by building the Whitechapel & Bow Railway where it joined the London Tilbury & Southend Railway's line to Upminster, serving the intermediate stations Mile End, Bromley (now Bromley-by-bow), West Ham (Manor Road) (now West Ham), Plaistow, Upton Park, East Ham, Barking, Dagenham (now Dagenham East) and Hornchurch.

A branch opened by the Ealing & South Harrow Railway from Ealing Common to Park Royal & Twyford Abbey (close to today's Park Royal) (just north of today's station Park Royal). The intermediate station was North Ealing. The branch was electrified from the outset.

Extended the branch by the Ealing & South Harrow Railway from Park Royal & Twyford Abbey (close to today's Park Royal) (just north of today's station Park Royal) to South Harrow (just south of today's station with the same name). The intermediate stations were Perivale-Alperton (now Alperton), Sudbury Town and Sudbury Hill. The branch was electrified from the outset.

Opened the line from Moorgate to Finsbury Park via Old Street, Essex Road and Drayton Park.

Highbury (now Highbury & Islington) station opened between Essex Road and Drayton Park.

A branch line from Harrow On-The-Hill to Uxbridge opened via the only intermediate station, Ruislip.

The line from Baker Street to Uxbridge (via Harrow) was electrified.

Opened a branch from Mill Hill Park (now Acton Town) to South Acton. Opened a connection between Heston Hounslow (now Hounslow Central) and Hounslow Town. These branches were electrified along with the entire Hounslow branch.

Eastcote and Rayners Lane opened between Harrow On-The-Hill and Ruislip.

All trains to Chesham, Aylesbury and Verney Junction were now hauled by electric locomotives as far as Wembley Park where steam locomotives took over.

Closed the branch from Shepherd's Bush via Hammersmith (Grove Road) via District tracks to Richmond, serving Ravenscourt Park, Turnham Green, Gunnersbury and Kew Gardens. The viaduct used by this service can still be seen from a Dictrict or Piccadilly train west of Hammersmith.

Charing Cross, Euston & Hampstead (CCE&H) opened a line from Charing Cross to Golders Green with a branch from Camden Town to Highgate (now Archway). The other stations were Leicester Square, Oxford Street (now Tottenham Court Road), Tottenham Court Road (now Goodge Street), Euston Road (now Warren Street), Euston. Mornington Crescent, Chalk Farm, Belsize Park, Hampstead, South Kentish Town, Kentish Town and Tufnell Park.

Opened a branch from Holborn to Strand (later Aldwych). This branch was always a shuttle, except for a late night theatre train (northbound). This train was probably withdrawn around 1910.

Northern

Tottenham Court Road renamed to Goodge Street. Oxford Street renamed to Tottenham Court Road. This latter station has interchange with the Central station Tottenham Court Road. It was rather confusing to passengers with the previous names.

District

Barking station re-opened along with the line from East Ham, this time electrified. The line from Bromley was quadrupled at the same time.

Northfield (Ealing) station opened close to the present Northfields Station.

Wood Lane station opened between Shepherd's Bush and Latimer Road. It was renamed to White City 1947-11-23 and closed 1959-10-24

The line was extended from Shepherd's Bush to Wood Lane, to serve the Franco-British exhibition. The station had one platform on a loop and was very cramped The trains ran counter-clockwise around the loop. The station closed 1947-11-22

Preston Road station opened between Wembley Park and Harrow On-The-Hill.

The change point between steam and electric moved from Wembley Park to Harrow-On-The-Hill.

Hounslow Town closed permanently including the connections to Osterley & Spring Grove (close to today's Osterley) and Heston Hounslow (now Hounslow Central).
